When you buy clothes in an online shop, you have the right to change your mind. This article briefly explains how withdrawal from a distance contract works and where to look for the detailed rules that apply at Splot.
Fourteen days to withdraw
Under Polish consumer law, a consumer who has concluded a distance contract may withdraw from it within 14 days without giving a reason. As a rule, the period runs from the day you take possession of the goods, that is, from the day you receive the parcel. If an order arrives in several parcels, the period may be counted differently, and the law also provides exceptions to this right, so it is worth checking the details.
Where to find the shop's rules
The detailed rules that apply in the shop are on the Withdrawal from the contract page. Read it before you place an order, not after. For the cost of sending goods back and the time limit for a refund, check that page – we don't repeat them here so as not to mislead you.
Exchange for another size or colour
Withdrawing from a contract is not the same as an exchange. If you want a different size or colour, ask the shop what is possible before you send the parcel back. You can check whether a specific variant is available on the product page by choosing a colour and a size.
How to prepare
Try clothes on at home as you would in a shop: carefully, and without wearing them for longer than you need to. Keep your order confirmation, as it may come in useful if you decide to send something back. The conditions that apply at Splot are on the withdrawal page. Better still, reduce the risk before you buy – measure yourself and compare your numbers with the size chart, where one is shown on the product page.
